DJ HYPE B2B DJ HAZARD *first ever London back to back set*

SPECIAL GUESTS: MY NU LENG (drum & bass set) , ANNIX ,TAXMAN ,POTENTIAL BADBOY

HOSTED BY: EKSMAN , IC3 , DREAD MC

On Easter Thursday 13th April, Playaz is back, featuring an exclusive back-to-back set from DJ Hype and DJ Hazard, and very special guests, Bristollian bass loving duo My Nu Leng spinning their debut drum & bass set.

In the world of underground drum & bass there are few labels that match the significance of Playaz. Having now notched up over 150 shows that began at legendary London venue The End before relocating to the iconic super club Fabric, 2017 sees the start of a new chapter as the Playaz brand as it finds its new abode at the majestic Electric Brixton. After an unforgettable debut show at Electric in January, the Playaz family returns this Easter with a weighty line up featuring an all-star cast.

What makes this event incredibly special is that it will play host to the first ever London b2b set with Playaz legends DJs Hype & Hazard. The two Playaz bosses’ introduced the pairing to delighted fans at Boomtown last year and have since gone on to play a few select b2b sets across the UK but never before in their hometown!

Also joining the billing will be very special guests My Nu Leng. These guys are a force to be reckoned with, in short – a bass music phenomenon. They’ve pioneered their own signature sound from the outset with soul shaking basslines being a key ingredient to their success, so it’s no wonder then that this unstoppable duo’s love for bass heavy electronic stemmed from being huge fans of drum & bass music. Ahead of their SW4 festival appearance, where they will go b2b with d&b originator Goldie, they’ll be performing an exclusive drum & bass set for the first time ever, exclusively at Playaz.

DJ HAZARD GETS YOU ON HIS LEVEL

Hazard by Chelone Wolf (High Res)-1

It’s been the talk of the D&B scene for weeks now. In fact, since DJ Hazard dropped a cheeky tweet to say that MistaJam would be premiering Roll On My Level.

A vocal version of Hazard’s 2014 track Bricks Don’t Roll, Roll On My Level features the powerful lungs of Summer Rayne and has already been elevated to Jam Hot status by the BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ.

To some, it may seem like a strange record for assimilation by a major label, but one thing is for certain, DJ Hazard’s anthem Bricks Don’t Roll is a bona fide anthem. If you don’t believe us, believe the fans who voted it as “Best Track” at this year’s Drum & Bass Awards, despite the record having been out for two years.

Originally signed to DJ Hype and Pascal’s Playaz imprint, one of the D&B scene’s most respected labels, Bricks Don’t Roll became a continuous staple in D&B DJ sets. Now, complete with fresh vocals and already receiving a SERIOUS hammering on radio and in the clubs, Roll On My Level has, as UKF published, become “bigger now than it ever has been” and looks set to be a Notting Hill Carnival anthem this summer.

Roll On My Level is available to stream on Spotify now

Let get one thing straight; 2015 was a big year for Potential Badboy. His game changing long player secured over 20 plays from Mistajam on BBC 1 Xtra, including his Jam Hot track of the week, as well as a broad range of support and love from DJ Hype on Kiss FM, Ras Kwame on Capital, Toddla T on Radio 1, this list goes on and we’ve not even discussed the love Potential got from his peers.

Which leads us nicely into the first remix EP and official video for one of the most saught after tracks on the LP: Revolution featuring Demolition Man & Show Stevens.

Stepping up first is Playaz mainstay Tyke who delivers a devastating vocal remix that keeps the original vibe but goes in heavy on the subs, don’t forget to check his bonus instrumental.

Potential Badboy takes control for the remaining mixes once again show his true musical diversity. The Slow Jam Part 1 & Part 2 mixes take the tempo down but keep the vibes high. PB’s Drumhouse mix moves effortlessly into the Garage Bass world with stepping beats and maximum groove while his Lickweed mix get’s on an uplifting Liquid D&B tip.

Potential Badboy has once again started a musical revolution.
