EXEPT return to the METHLAB RECORDINGS label with the release of their NEMESI EP, which stands as the ninth entry in the label’s BNKR series, exploring form and space within sonic and visual structures. NEMESI sees EXEPT return with the same devotion to sharp & uncompromising sonics that drove their powerful, and highly acclaimed first full release, the STRONGER EP, recently in summer. Sealed within the EP are four collaborative workswith artists MISSIN, SINIC, SULEX, & VISAGES. A series of relentless explorations of the deep, dark, & refined sonics central to the EXEPT sound and fundamental to BNKR, whilst also featuring the defining sounds of their contributors in a unique sonic synthesis.
EXEPT combine first with MISSIN on the shadowy SOMETHING YOU ARE, which sets off at a rapid pace through a sinister landscape of frantic synths and whispered vocals. KERNAL PANIC features the sounds of SINIC and is dominated by the attacks of a distorted snare that pulses above the track’s ascetic instrumentation. EXEPT & SULEX bring PYTHON, which features a serpentine bassline that quickly surges to the fore as it cuts through the spaces between beats. ROTARY, EXEPT’s collaboration with VISAGES, closes the EP with a steady stream of driving percussion obscured only occasionally by the chants of a distant observer.
With NEMESI, EXEPT continue their steady rise as one of the freshest pioneering figures in deep, technical drum & bass, a focus shared by the BNKR project, where Exept’s sound finds a fitting home.

AEPH & KUNG combine forces for the latest 2-tracker on METHLAB RECORDINGS, which sees the release of FOMALHAUT// UNFORMED. AEPH’s long-running career has displayed his forward thinking technical style across numerous respected labels, and KUNG’s quick and aggressive rise has brought him similar renown, with his fresh and pointed ideas making a strong mark in drum & bass. With this release, the pair unite on a pair of unusual yet devastating tracks that push forward with a powerful blend of their unique styles.
FOMALHAUT cinematic opening atmosphere offers false tranquility, with soft pads and dreamy arpeggios that quickly disperse to unleash a destructive triplet bass rhythm with hard-hitting percussive impact. UNFORMED’s angle is by contrast more irregular with its driving beat rising from similarly cinematic beginnings as it sheds impact of its predecessor in favor of a more thoughtful dancefloor.
With FOMALHAUT//UNFORMED, AEPH & KUNG deliver a fierce two track release on METHLAB RECORDINGS, placing diligent focus on the unsparing commitment to technicality & forward thinking sonic textures of the artists.
We are very happy to be PREMIERING the first release for Drum and Bass United Records of 2019. BC#9 returns in partnership for this release with INVALID to bring Jungle Demon to the world.
Dirty drum breaks and filthy synth bass lines smoothed over with spacial textures; these are some of the traits that define the DNB entity known as INVALID. Southern California native turned Colorado resident Jonathan Loeser, a/k/a/ INVALID, is a rising producer with plans to provide the global drum and bass community with original releases indefinitely. Over the past decade, INVALID has acquired the skills and equipment that modern caliber drum and bass demands, both as an avid drummer and as a live audio engineer. Jonathan is a member of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). With the support of music lovers worldwide, INVALID has plans to offer digital downloads, CDs, and limited edition vinyl runs on all future releases.
The Video and Release
We are putting the video up here first because personally we really like it !!! With clips from various creative commons sources, put together by BC#9 himself it sets a great backdrop to a great track.
Two Drum+Bass producers come together to create the story and sound of Jungle Demon and Selecta, the galactic DJ. The video and the track tell the story of Selecta and Jungle Demon as they ride through the lost city. The video was created by Jason Bakes a/k/a BC#9, using clips created by multiple artists . The voice of Vincent Price is featured in a clip from the film “House On Haunted Hill”. The artwork for the release was created by Xtene Sixtene & INVALID . Video clips courtesy of Alberto Mielgo, Beeple and Ash Thorp. Jungle Demon was Produced and mixed by Jonathan Loeser a/k/a INVALID @invalidproductions.

We think this track has both a modern, as well as a classic feel to it, with an energetic vibe that takes you on a journey. The video helps to project that alongside the music. But if you just want the soundcloud link then here you go –
As for BC#9 you can keep up with everything that is happening with DnB United Records over on their site HERE and check out the latest podcast by Invalid and BC#9 here –
This release hits all major stores in the NEXT FEW DAYS so keep an eye out for it !!
When I was younger, I really did not listen to a lot of music because I just did not care for what my parents listened to every day. I did listen to a bit when I was with my friends at their houses, but for the most part, I just didn’t care too much about it. When I got my own apartment though, that all changed. I started listening to the music that I liked, and I found out that there was a whole world of music out there. I did a search for mp3 download because I wanted to find not only the songs that I already liked, but I also wanted to find songs that I didn’t even know existed yet.
I was able to find a site that had a lot of really great songs on it. I would log onto this site at least once a week, and there would always be new songs on there for me to listen to. The really great part about this is that I was able to listen to them for free. If I liked what I heard, I could download it then. Continue reading →
The wait is finally over. This month, Pythius unveils a monster of a debut album; the 12-track Descend, forthcoming on Blackout. The mighty Dutchman has teased us for months with two heavy-hitting singles, From the Future / Akkoord ft. June Miller and Monster Black Hole. Now, Pythius rolls out the full LP that his loyal fans have been waiting for, all guns blazing and toting an incredibly diverse selection of tracks. It’s been years in the making; this is one album that ensures that the wait was absolutely worth it.
Descend will keep your bass cravings at bay for weeks on end. Expertly crafted to take the listener on a journey throughout a multidimensional musical landscape, Pythius’ creativity and skill resonates from start to finish. Meticulously blending clean, cutting-edge sound design with fierce bass and his signature drum beats, it’s very clear that Pythius took no shortcuts during the making of Descend. The album signifies a progression of Pythius’ artistry, as it touches down on territories previous unchartered by the producer. From aggressive neurofunk, to metal influence, to straight-up synthwave, Descend helps turn a new page for the drum and bass genre.
Pythius’ Descend follows previous EPs Abandon, New Order and Heresy, all of which rocketed the producer in to the limelight in his field. Not only are Pythius’ studio efforts paying off in terms of his musicality, his touring schedule is continually heating up to a level close to that of his productions. Catch him playing out his new material across Europe this year, with stops at the Netherlands, Germany, UK, France, Romania, Spain and more.
