Leipzig label Defrostatica backs some more hometown talent with the debut EP from Schmeichel, the Alteration EP, which builds from a footwork foundation into five tracks of stellar atmospherics and genuine bassweight.

The producer has a background as a rock drummer but here is pulling influences from all sorts of bass music, unleashing a flurry of hi-hat shuffles and air pads and turning them into a unique bass-heavy storybook of an EP which fits perfectly into the current scene of new-generation Leipzig producers.
