Following on from ‘Passing By’, his standout contribution to Dee Ellington’s recently released ‘So In Love’ EP on NexGen’s sister imprint Migration Recordings, Soulful Nature returns to NexGen with his beautifully crafted solo release ‘Going Nowhere’ EP.
The Leicester-based producer & DJ is on top form with this EP and lets his influences shine through with elements of soul, jazz & funk.
Going Nowhere
The scene is set with the title track of the EP in the form of ‘Going Nowhere’. Pianos and guitars accompany basslines, rolling drums & soul vocals. Think Marvin Gaye meets High Contrast and you will be on the right track.
Still Love U
The drums are hard, the bass is deep but the vibes are mellow. ‘Still Love U’ is the perfect antidote to all the big room madness! Low sung and warm, this is straight from the heart!
Something New
Keeping the soulful vibes high with expertly placed vocal samples and bass riffs make this roller into a high energy work out for the dance floor.
Doing To Me
Rounding off the EP is ‘Doing to Me’. A melancholy guitar riff ushers the listener into Soulful Natures world of warm analogue beats. A perfect way to end this EP.
