This December Let It Roll, the world’s largest and foremost Drum & Bass festival, expands its empire into new territory as it gears up for it’s first official release as a label with the aptly titled Opening EP.
Synonymous with creating memorable and boundary pushing music, Rido and Counterstrike’s track “Let It Roll” had it’s first play this summer during the opening ceremony of the 2015 edition of the festival. The hype was huge and there developed an immediate and unrelenting thirst for an official release. Fast-forward 5 months and hundreds of live and radio spins later by industry heavyweights including Friction on BBC Radio 1 and it’s finally here and dropping via Let It Roll Recordings.
Offering a two chapter, 10-minute-long introduction leading up to the title track “Let it Roll”, the Opening EP is set to become a truly seminal release in the wake of what’s been one of the biggest years for Drum & Bass so far. “New Chapter (Part 1)” begins by building up a theatrical crescendo of strings as electronic sounds start to permeate the melody.
“New Chapter (Part 2)” comes in harder and is an indication of what’s to come in the 3rd and final track on the EP “Let It Roll.” An eerie, atmospheric start with pulsing, menacing electronic sounds creeping in the lead up to the instantly recognizable vocal. Then, the drums are unleashed.
The Opening EP will be out on Beatport on December 11, 2015 and iTunes, Amazon and GooglePlay on December 25, 2015 via Let It Roll.
