Label: Passenger Records

Genetix are well known in the world of Dubstep. Maybe less well known are their D&B roots. Matt Sharp & Rich Dawson started producing Drum & Bass in 2006, under various different aliases and built up a large catalog of tunes. Then, their focus shifted to the sound of Dubstep. Their debut tune ‘Squid Attack’ caused major damage in the scene, with support from major players such as Nero & Flux Pavilion. The rest, as they say, is History…

With this in mind, Genetix are now returning to their roots, ably assisted by Oslo.

Oslo is Brent Newitt of Aquasky fame. Aquasky’s legacy in D&B & Breaks is unquestionable. From way back in their Reinforced and Moving Shadow days up to now, Brent has been at the very cutting edge of underground music. With his new incarnation, Oslo, he intends to take his sound in a new and fresh direction by infusing his timeless production with elements of Jump-Up D&B and Dub.

Gentix & OSLO have just introduced themselves to the world with their remix of Rico Tubbs & The Ragga Twins ‘Rule Dancehall’ which has picked up heavy support from the likes of Ray Keith, TREi, Drumsound, DJ Craze, B.Traits, Nicky Blackmarket, Grooverider, Kenny Ken & Charlie T on Kiss FM.

Now the scene is set for the guys to drop 2 original tracks on Passenger Records. First off, ‘Tyson Fury’ keeps the energy aggressive and rowdy, and just like the name suggests packs a massive punch. Next up is ‘Shotgun’ and this blasts you in the face with a banging Jump-up vibe.
