Skanky Panky Records is back in full force! This time we bring you a remix package of one of our biggest releases of 2010, Sedge Warbler – Welcome to the Universe.
We kick off proceedings with a slam-dunk from K Lab and his remix of Paranormal Ox Man. One of our favourite producers of recent years K Lab really delivers the goods on this EP! Big hip-hop drums grind against dirty bass jabs and glitched out vocals to create a true dance floor disruptor.
Next up we have SPR head honcho, SixAM, with a huge remix of Octopus Lover. Funky ass bass womps and swingy drums are fused to into a glitch hop banger. Mind that 2nd drop! It’s a doozy!
Ramping up the tempo to 140 for a moment we come to long-time tearout breakbeat stalwart Slim Blue’s remix of Terror Night. Ill start of first by saying DAAAAAAAMN!! This future jungle banger will have any dancefloor licking the windows. Big old school dnb basslines cruise along under dubstep tempo jungle drums. Lock up your kiddies, its Terror Night!!
Back down to hip-hop territory we have newcomer Jiffster on the case with his remix of Science Girls. It’s a rump shaker! Squelchy funk wobs and an off kilter choppy groove give this one a sound all it’s own. We’re definitely looking forward to what Jiffster’s got in store for us in the future!
Ding Ding! Round 2 with K Lab. He’s back with another huge remix. Ocotopus Lover gets the work over this time. If I had a low rider I would drive around all day and this would be on solid repeat. We defy you not to nod your head to this one!
Closing ceremonies in style we have the one and only Cut La Roc with his remix of Science Girls! Low slung beats and grinding basslines are the name of the game. Disco’s super thug vocals are given space to breathe and paint a picture of space sluts, epileptic power rangers, and bionic synthesisers.
